Junior Electrical Engineer

BAR is currently seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer, for the Buildings Division.

In this role, you will be responsible to perform electrical and control systems designs and complete assigned project tasks for Commercial, Institutional, Industrial, and Residential type structures.  The Electrical Engineer participates within a project team to complete assigned project tasks for various clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering deliverables under the direction of senior staff;
  • Preparation of reports, design calculations and drawings;
  • Ensure designs conform to applicable codes, standards, regulations, client requirements and internal procedures;
  • Provide technical assistance and support to clients and contractors during design and construction;
  • Field activities will be required, including general reviews during project kick-off and construction;
  • Maintain timelines and budgets to meet overall project requirements.
  • Ensures that project deliverables are met and effectively manages change throughout the duration of the projects.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by APEGA or APEGS
  • Registered or eligible for registration with APEGA or APEGS;
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes;
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and ETAP would be an asset;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with colleagues;
  • Good time management and organizational skills;
  • Valid driver’s licence with clean driver’s abstract is required.
