Job Descriptions
Principal Engineer
Senior Management position. Has authority over multiple departments each under an individual Department Manager. A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience is required.
 
Senior Staff Engineer
Management position or continuation of technical specialization. Has authority over supervisory engineers and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience is required.
 
Staff Engineer
Management position or continuation of technical specialization. Has authority over supervisory engineers and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.
 
Senior Engineer
First level of direct and sustained supervision over engineering staff, or first level of technical specialization.
 
Project Engineer
Independently puts out responsible and varied engineering assignments. Work is not generally supervised in detail. May give guidance to other engineering staff but supervision is not usually a continuing responsibility.
 
Intermediate Engineer
Completes engineering assignments of limited scope and complexity. Work is supervised in detail. Registration as a professional Engineer is required.
 
Junior Engineer II
Assists engineering staff with assignments of limited scope. Continuation of on-the-job training process. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
 
Junior Engineer I
Entry level position. Assists engineering staff with assignments of limited scope. First level of on-the-job training.
 
Senior Technologist
Highly experienced with extensive knowledge of industry. May be responsible for supervision of project personnel and often manages complex technical projects. A minimum of 10 years experience is needed.
 
Intermediate Technologist
Experienced with good working knowledge of industry. Works independently on technical projects. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
 
Junior Technologist II
Assists technical staff with assignments of limited scope. A minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required.
 
Junior Technologist I
Entry level position. Assists technical staff with assignments of limited scope. First level of on-the-job training.
 
Drafting Manager
Highly experienced, with extensive knowledge of industry. Responsible for overall department direction, assigning/scheduling of projects, and quality control audits on drawings and designs.
 
Senior Designer
Highly experienced, with extensive knowledge of industry codes and standards. Responsible for supervising and managing complex technical projects. Works independently and is responsible for technical decisions.
 
Intermediate Designer
Experienced, with knowledge of industry codes and standards. Able to supervise others and manage complex technical projects. Requires little supervision and is capable of making technical decisions.
 
Junior Designer
Experienced, with knowledge of industry codes and standards. Able to complete technical designs under the direct supervision of senior staff.
 
Senior CAD Operator
Highly experienced and works independently to produce CAD drawings.
 
Intermediate CAD Operator
Experienced and requires limited supervision of senior staff to produce CAD drawings.
 
Junior CAD Operator
Entry level position, works under direct supervision of senior staff to produce CAD drawings.
 
Drafting Technician
Entry level position, works under direct supervision of senior staff to assist with the production of CAD drawings.
 
Document Control Clerk II
Responsible for processing client and internal requests for drawings, filing electronic drawing files, preparation of drawing packages for distribution and managing project archives. A miminum of 2 years relevant experience is needed.
